I definitely believe you'll love this place. My sister & family loved Rails. We were all talking about the fantastic time we shared together the next day. We all agreed, we can't wait to come back. They barely fit on the plate, Delicious! We also had the Filet Mignon cooked to perfection, Delicious! Short Ribs Ravioli, Delicious! Chilean Seabass, Delicious! Tuna Tartar, Delicious! This place was fantastic! If you have the chance to celebrate a special occasion or not you will definitely not be disappointed. Every thing was Delicious! Entrees, I had the ribs & when they came my eyes almost came out of there sockets. We started with the appetizers Seafood Tower, Korean Meatballs & Grilled Octopus. Our waitress was very attentive & personable. It was very nicely decorated with decor, black & white pictures of that era (early 1900's) & surprisingly we could hear each other. Invited my sister, brother-in-law & my two nieces for dinner at Rails Steakhouse to celebrate my brother-in-law's December birthday in August this past Saturday 8-13-22. It’s definitely a special occasion price point, but we had a great time and experience. My husband chose the key lime pie, which was good, but too much crust. As mentioned previously, the few small negatives won’t deter us from returning here. The peach gelee didn’t have much peach flavor at all, and what was supposed to be white chocolate cheesecake didn’t taste anything like white chocolate. I was a little disappointed with the peaches and cream cheesecake. Desserts were okay, we ordered them to go. I loved the blue cheese gratin potatoes, and my husband enjoyed the gouda and bacon mac n cheese. I highly recommend getting the bearnaise sauce with your steak and asking for extra roasted garlic. They don’t keep salt and pepper on the tables. There were other guests in jeans and sneakers and hoodies. Most of the food could use more salt, easily fixed by asking for some salt and pepper. There was always someone coming by to make sure everything was good, always someone taking away our dishes, and someone even used what looked like a blade to scrape the crumbs off the table. We dressed up according to the dress code stated on their website, and we felt a little over dressed. Our special occasion was never acknowledged. It was also a birthday dinner for my husband. Beware of this place and DO NOT valet. There were a few things I would improve, but I absolutely would come back here.I made our reservation online, noting it was an anniversary dinner. Realtime driving directions to Rails Steakhouse, 10 Whitehall Rd, Montville, based on live traffic updates and road conditions from Waze fellow drivers. Have some decency and do the right thing when a felony is committed against one of your patrons. This is how they treat their patrons - shame on them. The management of this restaurant is disgusting. The manager didn't even give me a business card or called the next day to follow up. His valets said it wasn't their fault, it was busy, and that they don't have time to check everyone's phone. After almost 10 minutes a guy came out and told me to "calm down". She didn't say a word and then disappeared. When I went inside to call the police, I told the girl at the desk that I needed to speak to the owner or manager and that my car had been stolen. Turns out that they left my car running with the door open and a drunk guy that was at the bar jumped into my car and took off. When I got down there my car was missing, they supposedly had no idea where it or my keys were. After having dinner there this past Saturday evening, I texted the valet for my car.
